My professional career spans more than forty years in Food and Beverage Operations. Twenty of those years have been in senior management positions across a wide range of venues.
The Kenny Family recruited me to fill key roles in their organizational structure. My training extended to all aspects of the Supermarket business. My food and beverage background allowed for a smooth transition to fill the Food Service Director Position on a temporary basis when that need arose.
In 2011, I was offered the position of Executive Chef / Operations Manager at Delaware Gourmet Catering, A Kenny Family Owned Business. My management skills and business savvy have allowed the business to grow dramatically. Effective client relations, negotiation skills, effective procurement processes and hands on leadership are directly responsible for the growth in profitability of the corporation.
To date, the business has grown to producing between twenty - eight hundred to thirty - five hundred meals on a daily basis. I am projecting continued growth in our current market segment while continuing to exceed the expectation of our current client base. Business will also expand into the catering market segment as well as other related growth markets.
I attribute my success to my work ethic and drive stemming from dishwasher level, through increasing positions of responsibilities within large national chains to my current senior management position. I am a skilled motivator who instills passion and purpose in my teams. I am a Food Safety Manager, certified by The National Registry of Food Safety Professionals. I have achieved much in my career and I intend to continue to expand my knowledge and growth for years to come.
Sarah is a very artistic and creative addition to our staff with a diverse work background beginning in customer service, working in retail environments for over 15 years, playing an integral role in department level production, working her way into corporate environments. Excelling in customer interaction, Sarah quickly rose to management positions in each organization in her repertoire.
A problem-solver at heart, Sarah became a Six Sigma Black Belt while working for Acme Markets, as a project manager leading hand-crafted teams of experts to cost-saving solutions to implement company wide. She later accepted a position working in the corporate offices of the Delaware ShopRites as the Executive Administrative Assistant to the CEO/Owner.
Sarah's creativity was put to great use in 2011, when she decided to pursue a career in the wedding industry. As the Sales Director and Event/Banquet Manager, Sarah developed positive relationships with clients, members and staff at The Brandywine Country Club. Then in 2013, Sarah became the Office Manager at Spine and Orthopedic Specialists Physical Therapy, where she thoroughly enjoyed working with patients and all administrative duties related to an efficiently run medical office.
Now, as the General Manager of Delaware Gourmet Catering, Sarah has enjoyed learning about the commissary kitchen processes and working closely with clients and other state entities in order to serve our communities' seniors and children each day. Sarah is committed to taking our beloved DGC to new heights!
